![]() ![]() So now I'm left thinking it's my Mac so I take some older footage that I edited yesterday and drop it in the timeline and no problems.ĭoes Final Cut on Mac Mini have issues with all footage - Noĭoes Final Cut have issues with Client Footage - Yesĭoes Client Footage work on Final Cut on Laptop - Yesĭoes Client Footage work on Premiere - Yes I then drag to footage to premiere on my Windows and no flicker after that I download the footage to my 16" MacBook Pro and drag it to final cut and no issues. It runs smooth no flicker so I delete all my preferences and all settings in Final Cut and re upload the footage and it's still there. I do what anyone would do and I open it in QuickTime to check for a corrupt file. I have a deadline for Tuesday, so … □ 395 3įlashing Black Frame I'm working on Final Cut Pro with the M1 Mac mini 16gb and I have done 3 videos so far with no issues then all of a sudden I drop a clients video on the timeline and start editing and I'm getting a black flicker. There are about 700 edit points so recreating it at this point is a challenge. Also any suggestions on how to avoid it in the future are similarly welcome. I have several layers of compound clips which may be confusing FInal Cut Pro X.Īny suggestions for help are very welcome. This is my first real Final Cut Fail since FCP 7! Several combinations of the above multiple times over. Now nothing seems to fix it! I have triedĭeleting the generated media and re-transcodingĬreating a New project and copying the contents of the project I had a similar, but much less acute problem about 3 months ago on a project but simply deleting the generated media "fixed" the issue. Different clips flash over top of each other, some of the masks drill down to the base layer video (through a generator!). ![]() It seems to be fine when editing on screen, but after rendering or exporting it goes…well. I am running FInal Cut Pro X 10.6.3 on a MacBook Pro M1 Max with 32GB of Ram.īasically I have multiple clips on screen with a variety of masks combining them (max 5). In my last project the rendering has gone…bonkers. Thanks for anyone's insight.Ĭrazy render / flashing / clip substitution problem with masked compound clips I have used FCPX for years. I've attached screenshots so you can see what I'm talking about as well. ![]() But that's my only hypothesis, or that somehow the PNG got corrupted in a way the other two didn't, but I figured redownloading it would fix that problem and it didn't. Perhaps it has something to do with the transition over to this computer? I know Safari hasn't been working super effectively thinking I don't have enough space on my machine to load websites, but cleared that cache and that seems to have stopped that issue. Then when I exported (because I thought it was working for a brief moment) when it gets to that point in the video it just goes black with no audio whatsoever.Īny ideas why this is happening? I've cleared the render files, have enough space on my external hard drive, have a brand new 2023 MacBook Pro with 96 GB of Ram (yes I know that's excessive, but I'm transitioning to more editing work and my last machine wasn't keeping up), tried the trick where you scale your image to 101% instead of 100%, nothing has yielded a result. It's also weird that my two other PNGs created at the same time, and that I use for a similar purpose work just fine, but this one does not. When I continue to play I can hear the audio, and can go to either side of the PNG, but not even making a copy, downloading the original again, even saving it as a JPEG, then removing the background through Adobe, and re-adding it back in doesn't work. It's not even the size of the screen and I can transform what the size should be and it still registers as a black screen. So I'm adding in a PNG with a transparent background to a final cut pro project, and adding this specific one basically breaks final cut.
